Established in year 2000, Lazy H Ranch Kansas started off as a sister ranch to “The Lazy H Ranch” in Larkspur, Colorado . LHR Kansas shares the home to the 49 year old established Charolais Ranch…Smoky Hill Charolais Farm. Located in Hays, Kansas, the center point to interstate traffic, the intent of LHR Kansas was to market purebred Angus bulls for the sister ranch in Colorado across the country as well as being able to expand an extensive embryo transplant program creating the elite of Angus based genetics.

Through the last eight years, LHR Kansas has been establishing many relationships within the commercial industry. From commercial seedstock operations to the feedlots, the LHR brand has gotten a lot of attention. The customer base of commercial seedstock producers is driven to use LHR bulls due to their balance of overall traits from calving ease to performance to carcass, along with key efforts of maintaining a functional female that can raise the same balance of traits. With the Sixth Annual Bull Sale completed this spring, LHR Kansas has once again achieved the satisfaction of raising quality beef bulls.

Today, LHR Kansas is owned and operated by Maurice & Mark Rohr (father/son) and still incorporates an extensive embryo transplant program to keep ahead of industry standards. We utilize the most productive cow families and herd sires the industry has to offer, creating tomorrows beef bulls. Currently, LHR Kansas markets 125 Angus bulls thru two annual sales and the balance thru private treaty sales in the fall. Our ultimate goals in the cattle industry is to continue to serve the commercial seedstock producer with stoutest set of bulls that fit all the characteristics of modern beef genetics.
